The Treatment Process for Acupuncture/Meridian Massage:

These are important points people need to understand when going for therapy sessions.

  • Chronic (Long Term) problems will generally need more sessions

  • Chronic problems due to repetitive strain injury will probably need ongoing treatment especially if the patient returns to work/hobby, re-aggravating the problem area.

    • Like a stone in your shoe! The discomfort goes away once the stone has been removed.

  • Structural Problems

    • If the structure is too compromised then treatment may improve symptoms, however it may not be able to fully rectify the situation.

    • Sessions need to be close together to gain a cumulative effect.

    • The further apart sessions are the less cumulative effect will be obtained; therefore, continued therapy may be needed.

  • Each treatment will be customised to the individual.

  • Treatment may need to be re-evaluated and changed if necessary.

Patients:

  • Needs to fully participate! Therapy is a two-way process, with the therapist giving the treatment and the patient receiving, when this is done openly by both participants things seem to move forward more productively.

  • Needs to make time to incorporate treatments into their schedule, rushing and cramming a session although all to normal, into a busy life, doesn’t necessarily help a situation and my course more stress!
